Hey Y’all!
Ok I haven’t blogged in awhile so I thought to update you on what’s been going on. First off, I’m leaving for Lewiston, Idaho via train tomorrow afternoon..even though it lets off in Spokane, WA my brother, who we are going to visit is picking us up and making the rest of the late night/early next morning drive. VACATION AHHHHH!! LOL!
*CAUTION WHAT I’M ABOUT TO TELL YOU IS FREAKIN’ AWESOME!* Late last month, I had planned on going to the Weird Al concert at Napavine, Washington with my boyfriend Dave. Unfortunately, he wasn’t feeling well and told me to go ahead without him to the concert. Plus it was C-O-L-D! <–not complaining loved the weather, I’m a Washingtonian born and raised minus the year and a half in Lewiston, Idaho..Anywho, he has Fibromiagia so the weather’s toll on him wouldn’t have been very good.
I went to the Weird Al concert, got there a 20 minutes early, yay! Some of my friends from here and church were there and so were some of my neighbors. The Wednesday before the concert, it was actually more like Saturday I didn’t even really asked just called an old friend to see how things were going, who was on the other line finalizing the concert, what timing!! LOL! Next thing I know I’m hooked up with an extra backstage pass for after the show!! (It’s not what you know, It’s who you know but still HOLY CRUD!! LOL!) I made sure and thanked my friend for the pass by the way. *smiles* Weird Al did A WHOLE BUNCH of his songs including most of the stuff off the new album Straight Outta Lynwood, which I have next to Greatest Hits and Poodle Hat. THE SHOW WAS FREAKIN’ AWESOME!!, OUTRIGHT HALLARIOUS!, AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! I’m not gonna write what happened at the concert cuz I don’t wanna spoil it and either way if you haven’t seen Weird Al it’s an experience for yourself LOL.
After the show, I got to meet Weird Al backstage and there’s just no words for that!! I mean, I’m not obsessive/not obsessing or anything and I have met a lot of people, been to quiet a few concerts and not holding anyone on a pedestal here, No concert that I have ever been to has left me walking away with such a good feeling.(Sure they’ve had good feelings) Weird Al just tops it that’s all I gotta say!
It all started when I was 9 years old. My neice was 8, my nephews were 10 and almost 5. Anyway, we all grew up together on my grandpa’s farm literally. My twin cousin (not my twin he has a twin bro), Matt brought over his new cd at the time Weird Al: Even Worse (it had the Michael Jackson parodies “Fat”, “Eat it”, “Stuck in the Closet with Vana White” etc..) After I got done borrowing it so I could listen to it on the discman, he brought it back over and played it in front of me, my neice,<–who was also at the show, and my nephews. Basically we were blasting it from my upstairs bedroom and singing along. Then, Matt put in the Bad Hair Day album and played “Amish Paradise” LOL! Ok no dis nonjudgementally, Coolio was ok at the time, however, THANK GOD!!! SOMEBODY WROTE ANOTHER SONG TO HIS GANGSTA’S PARADISE!!!!!
Ok back to the rest of the story. So, I was waitng my turn backstage and after that I got to meet Weird Al! OMG, I was nerveous but moreso excited! I didn’t hold back, well a little and was a little shy. I walked in and was so excited and like OMG that I covered my face in my hands going OMG OMG OMG OMG, Weird Al OMG! Then, I got the gumpsion to get over my shyness and look and he said hi to me first, dang! He asked how I was too and I was like “ok” and thinking “awww that was sweet.” *smiles* Meeting someone face to face after listening loyally to their music since you were 9 years old, I’m 25 now.<—-The whole concert, backstage and all that’s pretty deep! I’m still glowing LOL! I have redone my page yet again and I promise no more redoing it LOL. *smiles* I have also uploaded the pics to my photo album on here and put a slideshow on my page. I wanted to share them with my family and friends.
