Annual Hub City Grand Prix This Weekend!

‘Ight,

This came as a shocker. Here I was sitting at my computer late one night with Dave at his computer watching his news. The following video is from the local Grand Prix website and is from the 2006 Hub City Grand Prix Go Cart and Super Moto(Street Dirt Bike Races.)  Last year’s Grand Prix race was also produced on DVD. Myself, Dave and numerous others as crew of KCED Radio and TV we’ll be doing it again, broadcasting live and taping this Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th. I just about fell out of my chair when I saw this video. RIGHT ON!

You can watch videos from the 2007 Hub City Grand Prix, which myself and others from the KCED team were there televising and taping both super moto and the go-karts. Just go to my youtube page at www.youtube.com/angel822007 and click on my favorites. (It’s the second video on my favorites list for the ‘06 Grand Prix and the videos shot by a local attender are also in my favorites. Their blog about the Hub City Grand Prix is here on WordPress at http://www.centralialive.com/wordpress/racing-in-centralia.htm but be sure to open it using Mozilla Firefox web browser as Internet Explorer has problems viewing the page.

Washington…A Bit of Country and A Lot of Scenery

‘Ight,

I’ve heard some folk say “home is where you live”. No doubt true, but as the age-old sayin’ goes “home is where your heart is”. I’m a firm believer of that but there’s more to the picture…Home is where your heart is, and especially with your loved ones! The first time I moved, I was only 4 years old and although distance wise it wasn’t that far, it seemed like it to me. Well, my family ended up moving six times after that. I lived in the state of Washington for 25 years, 14 of those years were spent growing up, reeking havoc, getting an elementary through highschool education, and having a hay bale of a good time on my grandpa’s farm!! It was only 5 acres “HEY GOOD ENOUGH!! FOR ME IT WAS A WHOLE ‘NOTHER WORLD JUST BEGGING TO BE EXPLORED!!” (smiles) Everything happened on that farm! Well almost, you name it it probably happened LOL. Friends came to visit, stayed for the weekend or the month if they were in a bind or needed some peace and quiet away from there home, we’d all stay up late nights until 3 or 4an except this one time it was until 7am LOL. Me and a few of my friends would get together and take off spur of the moment to wherever. Sometimes it was the local Chevron out in the middle of nowhere and Denny’s afterwards, Walmart at mid-night always sounded good, or maybe it was McDonald’s on a lazy Saturday just cuz. A lot of discoveries were made on the farm. I graduated highschool and grew up amoung my neice, nephews, and cousins since we were all pretty close in age and usually one or more of us did one of two things: Hay loft climbin’ and/or we got in a haystack full of trouble together, but we had a good time doing whatever it was we were doing LOL. Ok back to discoveries. We went to the majority of summer concerts and the county fair, discovered that Coolio was ‘ight at the time, Where’s Waldo was still good though a thing of the past and then there was the discovery of WEIRD AL! Living in the country, you could relate to a good majority of country songs and “Life’s A Dance” just may have been your theme song!, you learned real quick which pile of poo you stepped in and which animal left it. (Not to be gross LOL.), you understood Jeff Foxworthy very well and next there was Larry the Cable Guy., and lastly you knew almost all the FORD JOKES! That was a big period in my life. At 7 years old I made up my mind to be a DJ and my fantasy was to go on tour as a country artist with my own band and write songs. Well, the tour is still a fantasy, I am a college DJ for Radio-Oh yah and I’m pretty LOUD too LOL!, I do write songs and poetry plus I LOVE to sing…every now and then I’ll catch my boyfriend and love of my life of three years sneak up on me just to listen. Awwwwwwww he’s a sweetie!!

When I was 21, we uprooted to Lewiston, Idaho-all except my grandpa and my dad. That was only for a year and a half. Of course we came back for the holidays and my grandpa passed March of 2004 and we moved back to Washington in June 2005. Since then, I’ve been a softball player in the Special Olympics-our team took second place and a few of us took first and thirds in competition for State in Boise. Dave and I are a year away from graduating college with an Associate In Arts of Media Studies degree in Radio and Tv broadcasting, in addition to goin’ quaddin’ (4Wheelin’) since I was 16…I learned how to drive a quad in Idaho, and getting back from an across the U.S. trip to meet family down south…Dave and I went to the 4th of July bash at my sister’s (Also the parade and took pics.) We had a blast!! One phrase: Rednecks with fireworks! LOL . For me that night the Duckfart to Pepsi ratio was 3:4 LOL!  And yes, I know how to and do country line dance! (smiles) Here’s a few pics around here. Enjoy!

You’ve Got To Hang On

Me In Highschool With a Kitty Named Bonnie.(The following entries are original works written by myself. I started writing these my Freshman year of Highschool, Thank you God! It’s a gift from God. I have a whole notebook full.)

You’ve Got To Hang On

Verse 1: Life is full of dreams and broken promises. The days have their challenges but I know this much is true, even if it doesn’t matter  to you or anyone else it matters to me.ChorusYou’ve got to hang on and follow your dreams
you’ve got to believe if you wanna succeed
Above all, follow God and he’ll lead the way, everyday. You’ve got to hang on.
Verse 2: Now the road is gettin’ rough and you just don’t
think you can go on any longer but we both
know God is a whole lot stronger than the both of us. And he tells you no matter what.

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 3: You look like you’re encouraged and no longer worried.
It didn’t take much for you to follow your dreams.
You made it through, good for you, if you ever struggle again just keep in mind that…

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge: There’s no givin’ up!

(Repeat Chorus)

Forever and a Day (For My Love Dave)

Love At First Type (From Internet to Face to Face) Me and Dave

Forever and a Day

February 23, 2004 12:30am

For Dave, love ya lots

Close your eyes think of me

tell me just what you see

Friends are like candles

through a dark and stormy night

God is our guide and mother nature our light

Nothing else matters but

the love that we share

All the hugs and warm fuzzies

show you care

For that I am thankful each and every day

Heaven smiled down on me

and sent a special angel

my way

I lie awake in the dark each night

scared and insecure, I am not alone

Snuggled under the blankies your love

holds me tight as words of comfort you softly

speak over the phone

There isn’t much to say

Words aren’t needed

you show me the way

Though miles apart

we will always be

side by side and heart to heart

I love you so much my friend

You have a special place in

my soul

Our friendship will never end

Friends always we will stay

Thank you for forever and a day

Where Were You

(Ok I also write poetry, Thank you God!) This one is one I wrote during THE HARDEST TIME IN MY LIFE about three years ago. My one and only grandpa remaining was passing and I was in a young and nieve relationship with someone in my age group, whom I thought would’ve been more mature. Nonjudgementally, I wouldn’t change a thing, thank you God! That’s past and that’s what I get for thinkin’ eh! Now I have the man of my dreams, DAVE!)

Where Were You

(Forever and For Always)

February, 2004

From a past relationship experience

Where were you when I needed you the most

So alone and broken

Walking beside nature’s distant shores

Lately all I see is your ghost

It haunts me

I cry inwardly at day and outwardly by night

Where are you

I search my heart, search my soul

You are there and so is love

Too much love to count

We share so much, so much love, so many smiles and yet sad but true

In a good way, so many tears

I long to hold you in my arms

The frustration of us not being near

We are near yet far apart

Joined at the hip, but our hearts cry out

They cry to be held forever and for always

I am sorry the way I treated you

We are so fragile, two different people from two different worlds, but yet one of the same

A mirror image of each other

We both know, we both see

You stand on bended knee before I do

I just wish you were more patient

But forever and for always just know how much I love you

I wish, I wish, I wish

If you could only see the whole picture

Where were you

I am certain of my feelings for you

True love alone will come back

I refuse to leave your side

I love you forever and for always just as you love me

I want to marry you as much

Things are to be worked out but stand alone can we not

We need eachother more than we will ever know

It’s love we have and true love we show

I have these feelings mushed up inside for you

I need your help, putting God first

I love you so much

I know you need me equally

I am here for you, I never left nor never will

Lay your head on my shoulder, tell me what’s wrong

Everything, your whole heart

I will lean on you too and you have heard my heart

Second to God you always will

Our hearts shatter but with God only I can help to pick up the pieces

You are still trying to sort them out

God is here for you, that he always will be

Right by your side with me for eternity

I love you so much, I can’t explain

No need for words

But I know with God we will make it through the heartache and pain

Second to God, one man cannot stand alone

Trust me, take your hand in mine

You will not fall, for if you do not just I, but God will be there to catch you

To trust takes a single grain of sand

I know that no matter what we love each other

You are here for me, how I wish to be held

Just that is a blessing in itself

I too hold you

I am here for you

I too will always be there to help you stand

I too will not let you fall

I love you forever and for always

‘98 A Short Rant.

‘98I once went to a school
I remember it fondly
Math problems, language, poetry and a dear friend,
friends that I lost contact with.
Something happened
I had to move
It was sad,very sad
memories I will always remember ‘98 and what I learned.

Redneck Food For Thought. (A Blog Archive Of Mine.)

My First Child, Bomber Kitty Poses For the Camera

Blogged from May 2005

Hey Y’all!

I have a number of blogs and decided to put them all in one blog. Here is the blog archive from when I first started blogging.  Blogged from May 2005. Enjoy and God bless!

Daily Spuds: A Work In Progress

Well I decided to come up with a more unique title for my first blog. As a rather frequent visitor of cyber space, I am known as Orchard….Out on the airways in reality, call me Angel. Spuddy’s World, is a work in progress. I have yet to post my photo albums and such but it’s turning out good. Artistical expression is what you make of it. You don’t always have to draw your favorite characters. Creativity never has been limited. Hey either way is good. I believe in art, being creative and totally being yourself. Check out my personal website at:

‘Ight, another full day tomorrow so I will hit the hay.

Paws For a Photo Shoot

As you can see, I have my photo albums up and running. Most of them are pretty recent photos. The title says it all and so do the pictures. My 7 year old Tabby cat named Bomber came up with the idea, no joke. He was adopted from the animal shelter. Anyway, back to the story. I was sitting at my desk one night fiddling with my new webcam taking pictures. (March) Bomber came up to me and jumped in my lap so I gave him attention before setting him down on the floor. To make sure the UB cord was properly in place and refering to the box to read up on the manual, I returned finding Bomber staring at the computer screen. Intriguing himself with not only seeing the pictures on the screen but pressing his nose to the camera lense, he backed up and gave the impression “Here mom take a few pictures of me.” I smiled through laughter as I snapped the photos. Not too many cats pose for the camera. As a matter of fact, fast forward to three weeks ago. I had placed his bag of cat food open under the kitchen sink. Seeing that I had fed him that morning and was getting up to give him dinner, when from my desk I heard a rustle followed by a crash. As I turned to look, Bomber had nudged the bag over with his face and proceeded to “order in”. He was caught on cam.

Straight To the Roots

Yeah it’s that time again. The ever familiar fragrences of nature and vasking in the glow of sunshine. We set down books, shut off the tv, and give the computer a short but well needed vacation….digging into the closets rediscovering things we deemed as lost 6 months ago. Yep, spring cleaning. Not the only time of year to be organized but one of the best times of the year to weed out boxes, trim up the hedges, cut the lawn, and beautify your gardens and pamper your houseplants.  Mine is coming along nicely, of course me relocating is riding on the hinges of 24 hours. That’s quite ok….I’m happy with everything including a broom and dustpan. So just a thought to stop and smell the roses. Happy cleaning to all.

Boxed: Got Tape?

Ok I know the title is extremely wierd for this blog. All is well in the orchards as a rather big challenge lies ahead. We are faced with once again packing up and heading back to farm country. Spring cleaning and all it’s sorting was accompanied this year by boxes and tape and more tape, as not everything fits into a box. So room by room I go, asking one question after passing along the goodwill pile to someone who can put more use into it, did anything get left behind?

There is still more to get done in the next couple of weeks. Spring cleaning’s tropical breeze brought in a friend of nature….the spider. Silly as it must seem that I normally imitate the spider’s reaction…AHHHHHHHH! Yah if I were as small as a bug with eight legs and saw something four feet tall moving towards me I’d scream too. However strange or not stange these blogs may seem to be, I enjoy writing, this is how I write. Anyway, as the cleaning draws to a close, and the sorting goes on, so does….the packing. The other positive side to this situation besides saying “see ya later” to the forty some odd friends  for the year and a half of living in Idaho, is you get to see all your other friends and redecorate a new space.

Quiz Blog

What member of KISS are you?

What Star Wars Episode 3 Character are you most like?

Another beautiful sunny day in Idaho.  I am still getting up the gumption to pack, but this blog is about something else. I recently took a quiz online, for fun, called “Which member of KISS are you?” Here are my results:

PAUL STANLEY – You’re sensual and handsome, and you know it!  You aren’t afraid to flaunt your best attributes, which are multiple, but you really aren’t seen as arrogant.  In truth, you are very well-grounded, and love the people that are close to you.  Now give us a pout!

Here are the results to the second KISS quiz. I took them both twice aparently I have Gene Simmons’ wild side LOL it’s all good!   Here are the links to the KISS test:

KISS TEST #2

I also took the Star Wars Episode 3 Character quiz, here are the results…Along with the link to the quiz.

Together With My Boo/ Rollercoaster Dayz: Nov. 8, 2005This is from google here on the net, it’s the website of Diamond Rio’s song “In God We Still Trust”. I thought to link to it so everyone could hear it.http://www.ingodwestilltrust.com/listen.html

Yes I am back on the net. Yay! I have been blogged out for a couple months due to moving. I moved from Idaho back to Washington this summer with the family. I still miss the orchards there as well as the farm here, but I’ve settled into a nice place that’s not too far from what I know. My boo, well….chuckles, the good part is is that we are still together and now FINALLY together in person. The other good news is his family is safe. The bad news, Hurricane Katrina landed smack dab in the middle of N.O. My heart goes out to everyone here on that. Aside from missing my friends back in Idaho, while I have my friends here and friends from all over, things have been hectic and challenging…I am not complaining though. I’m getting organized bit by bit and have been spending a lot of time with my boo. I’ve also been spending time with my family, my dad just had a birthday. Though I don’t have kids, I have two pets as children, Bomber, my orange Tabby cat who is around 7 years old, and the family dog Princess Amika Shante, Amika for short who is a three year old Mixed Toy Poodle. Both my boo and I are returning to college to finish our AA degrees in Radio Broadcasting. Radio is a lot of fun and allows me to be creative with it also. I spent some time getting back to reality at the fair this year and got a chance to meet with 80’s rock singer Joan Jett, very cool. I’ve also been northernizing my boo, LOL, I love him for being southern and being him but he is getting familiar with life in a small town.  *smiles*The photo of my boo was on Christmas Day 2004 when he went to his brother’s for Christmas. He called me that afternoon, I was in Idaho at the time, and extatically told me “Oh my gosh, for the first time in 9 years it’s snowing in New Orleans and not only that it’s the first time it’s snowed on Christmas Day in New Orleans for 120 years, DUDE! They even closed the G.N.O. Bridge”. Well more later, God bless!

Entry for August 09, 2006

.. magnifyHey There!

It’s been a long time since I updated my blog! Here’s what’s up in my neighborhood.  School is ending for the summer, kinda feels like Van Wilder LOL. I start up again in the fall and finish next June. I am still doing radio here at the college station and my weblink tells more about that. Yes I am a DJ LOL. My soulmate and I are living together, we just threw an end of summer bash, boy was that a blast! I love God with all my heart, he’s my inspiration first. I am highly into music and *drum roll please* if you haven’t guessed I’m a KISS fan since 1985 when I was just knee high I remember hearing of them and one of their songs. Diamond Rio is another favorite group of mine, I love good song lyrics that inspire heart and soul. I enjoy drawing as well, writing poems and song lyrics. I’ve met quite a few people, Colin Ray’s steel guitar player, Martina’s backup singer, LG Wise, Rebecca St. James, Pat Benetar’s drummer and backup guitarist, The Hagar Twins from Hee Haw, Rolling Stones cover Sticky Fingers, Diamond Rio, and Joan Jett, but not KISS, yet…cool beans. I like to sing, I’m learning electric guitar, drums, and play trumpet, clarinet, and keyboard included. God bless y’all and I hope y’all are doing well.
